The Lost Accord

Time Keeper Adrast had one mission: to ensure a pivotal treaty in 1421 between two warring kingdoms was signed. Without it, the ripple effects would trigger centuries of conflict, culminating in a dystopian future of perpetual war.

Adrast arrived moments before the meeting was to begin, concealed in the shadows of the grand hall. The air was tense, filled with the sharp scent of ink and heated arguments. The envoys—one wearing the crimson sash of the northern realm and the other draped in the azure of the southern—were at an impasse, their leaders locked in a bitter standoff.

Scanning the room, Adrast's gaze locked onto a young scribe standing near the northern king. The treaty was in his hands, but his trembling grip betrayed his hesitation. Adrast stepped into a hidden alcove and activated her temporal influence—a subtle push, just enough to shift the odds.

The scribe straightened as if struck by a sudden wave of clarity. In a bold voice, he spoke out of turn: "My king, if I may." He pointed out a compromise clause hidden in the text, one that both sides had overlooked but could satisfy their demands.

The room fell silent, then erupted into murmurs. The leaders scrutinized the document, and, after a tense pause, both nodded. With the scrape of quills on parchment, the treaty was signed, binding their kingdoms in peace.

Adrast allowed herself a rare smile as she slipped back through the timestream. Another fracture mended, another future saved.
